press release for Thu 19th Oct 2017 from Royal Enclosure
All time record of 40,000 people in the Shanghai luxury quarter to watch British racing this weekend.
On Sunday 22nd October 2017 Britain’s most important horse race is scheduled to be shown to 40,000 people gathered in the luxury quarter of Shanghai, Mainland China at the Best of British exhibition. This will be the biggest group of spectators outside of a racecourse to ever watch a British race.
This new globalization of British racing is lead by RoyalEnclosure.com an evolutionary new platform that aims to grow racing into one of the most popular mobile spectator sports in the world by simplifying it into the competition between just 32 of the most notable stables in the sport including HM the Queen, the Oppenheimer family, Lady Bamford, the Prince of Qatar and so on.
“The Royal Enclosure brand is enabling British horse racing to naturally evolve in a way that is similar to the global evolution of football under the Premier League brand or motor racing under Formula One” explains Byron Constable one of the founders of Cambridge based Royal Enclosure. “Except this evolution will take place over a much shorter time frame as many aspects of racing are already a perfect fit for the global mobile spectator such as the short, fast races (average 3 minutes a race), daily fresh content (Royal Enclosure features just one race each day) and now with the invention of the Royal Enclosure 32 teams (or stables as they are referred to) concept, it’s easy and exciting to follow the sport even if you are not a native English speaker.
“For example in the Royal Enclosure feature race showing this Sunday in Shanghai 5 of the 32 Royal Enclosure stables are competing including the Oppenheimer stables (family owners of Debeers diamonds) in the black white and red shirt and the Alshaqab stables (Qatar royal family) in the grey and red shirt. They are racing some of the most precious horses in the world which really adds to the drama.”
“We are delighted that the race will now be enjoyed by viewers in Shanghai and hope to show more races from the QIPCO British Champions Series in the future.” Rod Street – Chief Executive – British Champions Series Limited.
Richard FitzGerald, CEO of Racecourse Media Group and British Champions Series Board Member, said: “QIPCO British Champions Day is Britain’s richest raceday which showcases all that’s great about our racing so we’re delighted that the fixture’s highlight, the QIPCO British Champions Stakes, will form the centrepiece of the ‘Best of British’ expo in Shanghai.
